Our 2021 Recap
Happy New Year! Here at WISS we follow all things soccer very closely, and it’s been a very big year for women's soccer. We wanted to pay homage for all that’s happened, as well as recap what a year it has been.
-Carli Lloyd Retires. Lloyd is retiring after a career that includes two World Cup titles and two Olympic gold medals.
-Grand Valley State wins the 2021 DII women's soccer championship
-A rare Orlando Pride win against a world-class Portland team
-Orlando City takes part in club’s first international competition against Liga MX side Santos Laguna in the Leagues Cup.
-A Legendary Goodbye, the retirement of Chris Wondolowski
-When the pair of USWNT legends Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe summoned their renowned ability to master the moment and guided the world champions to an Olympic bronze medal
-Washington Spirit won First NWSL title on Kelley O'Hara's extra time goal
-An epic win for the United States Men's National team against Mexico on November 12th
